On the development front we are soon to release automated batch processing (including automated data transfer) and full financial integration. We have also expanded our support office to continue offering our high level of support to all our clients.

We have expanded our client base this year, and would like to welcome Uncharted Africa and Planet Baobab to our family.

Our clients range from the Island Resorts to the deep African Safari Lodge, in our pursuit for continued excellent support this year ResRequest opened a second office in Kwa-Zulu Natal which focuses on client support via telephone, email and skype. Jill has moved with the new support office and our new recruits are myself Nomfundo (skypename: nomfundom) and Belinda (skypename: Belinda-resrequest). Our mission is to provide you excellent support.

Latest News

New features in ResRequest include Allocations and Deposit Points.

An ‘Allocation’ is the reservation of space for an agent before any booking has been made. Normally allocations are made for relatively long periods of time, e.g. an agent may be allocated 2 rooms for the duration of a season. This feature assures an agent of availability so that they can safely conduct sales campaigns.

Deposit Points provide the ability to record and analyse payments at multiple deposit points. A deposit point may be either a bank or a cash point (such as a cash box at a property). More information about these features will be provided on this month’s electronic Newsletter.

Upcoming Events

ResRequest has partnered with Niche Africa (www.nicheafrica.com), a marketing web portal which offers our clients the opportunity to advertise and promote their lodge/stock online. The portal markets exclusive destinations through Africa and will generate booking requests.

As a manager, how can I see the value of new business I have generated in a certain period?

• From the main menu select: Reports>Reservations>Update
• Set the date range for the period of new business created
• Set the property and status filters
• Set the update status for ‘New’ only
• Click ‘Generate Financial report’ to view the financial summary

Shortcuts

Quick searching for reservations:

Press F9 from your keyboard to open a quick search for a reservation by reservation number, reservation name or voucher number. Wildcards can be used (e.g. RS12*).

Open multiple ResRequest windows from the ResRequest toolbar:

Click the icon on the toolbar to open an additional window in ResRequest. This means that you can display the availability calendar in one window, while you update a reservation in a second window.
